Great race report Cobus and good to see you again!
Lessons 1 & 2 – thanks, I made the same errors and although i had the feeling we
were heading too far right to CP 2, I just couldn’t prevent the sheep mentality!
(Think you may be right about the altitude of the plotted CP’s though, I
constantly reset mine and was always too high.)
Saved myself and my team from Lesson 3, by cross-checking map relief features
just in time.
Promptly fell from grace later by “so badly wanting to go downhill” on the cycle
after we left you guys, that we actually did! AWESOME downhill but ALAS at the
bottom we could see the Telkom tower up to our right. Bugger. 40min detour.
Great of you to share your lessons especially the reminder of the Safety-rail
concept.
