Comments and Thanks

WOW!
the location was super, the hot-chocolate-and-coffee-station a brilliant idea, the marshalls were friendly no matter what time of the night we arrived or how cold they might have been – the hike in the kloof was stunning, the river-paddle superb – everything that you’d want out of an adventure race.
THANK YOU hardy, qt and team for putting together a superb ‘old-school’ adventure race that was lots of fun and very finishable. thank you for all the hard work behind the scenes – putting controls up, transporting boats, scouting for weeks before the event – i’m looking forward to the next one :)

Hoor Hoor!!

What a weekend :) That river paddle is going down in my books as
“legendary” :) And the sunrise on top of the kloof… what can we
say….wow!

Thanks Hardy & QT – for an adventure race that will be one of those we
talk about for years and years to come :)

And thanks as well from team Land Cruisers!  Clint, QT (I assume that is Thursia?) and team, you’ve done one heck a job to set up a very memorable route.  I’m sure that there are many participants that won’t quickly forget the joys of taking a 3am winter swim.  I surely won’t!  There were many highlights for me on the race, but the seeing the sun rising on the second hike to throw some light on our being-lost-in-the-dark-problem were definitely the best one.

While we were salvaging those K2′s D1 and Stealth appeared 20m from us, got stuck on some rocks in the rapids, and here I saw something really special.

Stealth kept the K2 top-side up from the front (turns out THAT is how you stay dry), and D1 got out of the boat, pushed the thing over the rocks into deeper fast-flowing open water, held on to the boat, and somehow got back in without capsizing. They passed us smiling and chatting to us and even looking around not just in front of them …

A really well-organised AR – was awesome to experience old-style AR, thanks
Hardy!

A big thanks to all who helped with the salvage operation, and a big thanks to Hardy, QT, all the marshals, Dirk and family for an awesome race at an awesome location. Thanks Hardy for not charging an arm and a leg – this race was extreme value for money. Experiences like this will definitely be deposited in the memory bank. It is an honor for me to get the opportunity to do events like this with my wife (and best friend). And last but definitely not least, a big thank you to our Creator for allowing us the privilege of participating in this event and for protecting us every step of the way.

Thanks Thursia and Hardy and all the support crew for presenting us this opportunity to be out having fun doing the things we enjoy so much, with wonderful team mates for whom our admiration grows each race.
